What is pinhole photography and how does it work?
A pinhole camera is a very simple camera made from a lightproof box. It doesn't have a lens but a pinhole instead instead which allows the light enter the box. It also has a shutter that controls how much light can enter and for how long.
How do you make one?
|
1) find a light proof box or a coca tin. Try to ensure that it has a removable lid. 2)paint the inside of the box black. This stops light from entering and helps you get a clear image. 3) cut a rectangular hole half way up the container. 4) cut approximately 2 cm long piece of aluminium foil and smooth it out. Use a pin to make a small hole in the centre of the foil. 5) attach the foil to the container making sure the pinhole is covered by the foil. 6) make a shutter out of card that can open and close. It should completely cover the pinhole.
